Maple & Brown Sugar Candied Pecans

This is a product of one of those evenings when all I want to do is spend the night in my kitchen. I noticed I had a big bag of raw pecans leftover from Thanksgiving and decided to give a snack a whirl. I'm pleased as punch with the results and plan on giving this batch away as a Christmas gift. Next time I make these I think I will add some cayenne.

1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 lb raw pecans
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp sea salt
  1. Preheat oven to 325
  2. combine sugar, paprika and salt until no lumps are visible
  3. In a separate bowl, coat pecans in maple syrup. Add sugar/spice mixture and toss to coat.
  4. Spread single layer on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Cool.
